Dinner: Reykjavik Edition

Brautarholt Golf Club

A Links Style course that's carved in and through Lava Rock Fields with views of the Reykjavik Skyline that can be seen over the water and lush green Mountain ranges that give off an Ireland vibe.

Arguably, the best course in Iceland

A 12 Hole Layout with 6 more holes opening in July to make it 18 (unfortunately just missed this)

It's often said that in Iceland- The Land of Fire and Ice the weather is unpredictable. Sometimes it's cold/ windy, it can rain or stop at any moment, or the sun may pop out. So be prepared.

*And the bunkers have volcanic ash/black sand in them from black sand beaches.

Westman Islands Golf Course

Day 3- leave early and get breakfast at Konungs Kaffi in Selfoss (50min drive from Reykjavik), then Drive to Landeyjahofn for ferry 10:45am at Westman islands tour starts 12 Noon. You’ll spot (including loneliest house in world on ferry). Tour will take you to biggest puffin viewing colony in the world

Westman Islands Golf Course

Golf doesn't get much more dramatic than the Westman Islands Golf Course. Carved into an ancient volcanic landscape on the island of Heimaey, this unforgettable layout winds through lava fields, steep crater walls, and rugged Atlantic coastline. The front nine meanders through the breathtaking Herjólfsdalur valley, while the back nine ventures closer to the sea, where ever-changing winds add both challenge and excitement. With puffins soaring overhead, emerald green fairways framed by black volcanic rock, and some of the most unique scenery in golf, every hole feels like an adventure. It's not the longest course you'll ever play, but it is one of the most memorable. Really wanted to play this one. Would totally go back to Iceland cuz there was more to do

•Round of golf at Westman Islands Golf Course. You can spot “Elephant Rock” 🐘 from course and former Viking Houses

•Can spend the night at Westman Islands. If not, take 2:30pm ferry back to start heading to Vik.

Day 4- Hotel Breakfast then walk behind hotel towards Vik Golf Club to Skool Beans Cafe (school bus 🚌) for an on the road latte/coffee ☕️

•Head to Diamond Beach 2hr drive

•Glacier Lagoon is walkable from Diamond Beach. Yes it’s a long drive down the south coast but well worth it! Bring winter clothes as it’s cold here 🥶

•Drive back to Reykjavik after

•Play Vik Golf Club - 9 Holes - rental clubs 8am to 10pm to play

VIK GOLF CLUB

A 9 hole course that plays beneath the towering green cliffs which are framed into the left side of the course for most of the holes. The round starts with a Par 6 on the 1st hole! Yes Par 6!

The 9th hole is a downhill Par 3 with wind hurting.

While you may not find this course in magazines or amongst any ranking lists, what makes this course special is the experience.

It's voluntarily run. You pay through an "honor system" by leaving money in a drop box or using credit card machine inside. And there's 2 sets of rental clubs you can grab and go. No starter, No Tee times. Just a bunch of Iceland Gulls (seagulls) watching your every shot

Take in the nice views of the Green Mountains and you can play after dinner for a quick 9 at 8pm like I did. Or with 23hr of sunlight in the summer months you can play

Midnight Golf later/earlier (or whenever).

Plus the town of Vik is nice popular location on the south coast. The @skool_beans is right next to the golf course for some coffee/tea beforehand, or @blackcrustpizzeria was excellent, Reynisjara Black Sand Beach from GOT is 15min away, Diamond Beach is 2hr away, Westman Islands, countless waterfalls, and more than enough sheep and horses roaming the grass fields to keep you

Day 5- Sky Lagoon to relax and chill out after all the driving and activities for trip. Some people like Sky Lagoon better. Do the 7 step ritual for “Skincare”.

Lunch- at Le Kock in Reykjavik. Grilled cheese & tomato soup 🍲🥫👌

I was eating Skyr (Iceland yogurt) and drinking Collab (natural energy drink with collagen) the whole trip.

•Grab an Icelandic hotdog 🌭 nearby at Baejarin’s Beztu. Get “the works”, it is A MUST GET!

Dinner- Baka Baka, Hresso, Kol, Apotek, and many other good options!

Day 6- breakfast at Sandholt (lunch option), or Dieg. There are other great places too!

Hang out/shop Reykjavik before heading to airport
